Wishing For Useful Counsel On Fake Flower Home Decorations?

Hanging Plants: Picking and Displaying

No matter the size of your house, adding hanging plants make for a great and non-invasive decorative touch. It is nice to have a good variety of plants in your home—different sizes and different placements make the whole area seem fresh and outdoorsy. Most often hanging plants get placed in a corner of the room, which is a great way to spruce up some of the more neglected, dusty areas of your house. They also do not get in anyone’s way. It is important to hang your plant correctly so that it does not someday crash to the floor. Some of the prettiest plants are larger and heaver; these require a metal hook attached directly to a ceiling beam. There is much less to worry about if you decide to hang smaller plants with light containers. As you decide on which hanging plants to use, think about colors of the flowers, shapes of the leaves, the designs of the containers, and how the plant will grow. There are about as many artificial hanging plants as real ones, so do not feel limited in choice if you decide to have the ease of a silk plant.

Wreath Storage

A simple but festive way to prepare your home for holidays and special occasions is to hang a wreath on your door. There are so many wreath options and so many different seasons that any creative crafter can easily feel overrun with them. Storing your wreaths is actually not as big a problem as it may seem. You can cut down on your storage needs by “recycling” your wreaths. In other words, you can use the same base for all of your wreaths and simply change the decorative features on them. Keep in mind that since you will be using this wreath foundation constantly, you will want it to be quite durable. We recommend a solid wreath base to which you adhere the flowers with either tape or light application of glue. Now you do not have to ever worry about storing the large, bulky, often awkwardly shaped wreath ring. You can keep several varieties and colors of flowers in one box instead of having 12 or 14 different boxes of wreaths in your garage. On the other hand, if you enjoy having several different wreaths, we recommend getting either plastic containers (there are even some built specifically for wreaths) or a simple shelving system so that none of the wreaths get crushed or damaged.

Decorating for the Winter Season

Though each season is fun to decorate for, winter decorations seem to hold a special place in everyone’s hearts. One cautionary tip is to make sure any plants you decorate with are hardy enough to withstand the wild changes in temperature and precipitation that winter can bring. Some of the most popular items to use in winter decorations are evergreens, branches (sometimes frosted), and that special selection of wintry seasonal flowers. Much of winter decor revolves around Christmas, therefore Christmas tree pines, wreaths, and any other type of Christmas decor is perfectly acceptable. However, if you're planning to use this decor through the winter season, base your decor design on more generic wintry elements that can be added to during the Christmas season.

Centerpiece Designs

Centerpieces are a great way to decorate with silk flowers. Centerpieces are usually placed on the dining room table, coffee table, or other prominent area in your home. A good centerpiece attracts the eye but also accents the beauty of its surroundings. If you arrange your centerpiece carefully, you can create a piece that is well-balanced and causes your audience to take in the whole creation. One pattern incorporates thin, long, sometimes wispy elements (such as cattails or taller flowers) and uses them in an x-shaped design. By using a weaving pattern with flowers or perhaps even a small tabletop shrubbery, you can create an arch-like pattern. If you would like to find out more about centerpiece designs, there are many pictures available on the internet; home decoration magazines also have great ideas.
