To lose weight: eat with men

By: jeavy

Dinners for girls may be fun for single women or married who gather for parties "for girls", but eating with an expanded group of friends (so only with women) may well push you to eat more.
Women who eat in smaller groups of friends end up eating a little less, the study said. And those who share a meal with a man eat even less.
Regarding men, researchers have found other conclusions. Neither the number of companions at meals or gender (male or female) individuals in the group to share a meal with them seem to make a difference in the amount of food they consume during the meal.
Meredith Young and his researchers observed 469 university men and women eating in 3 restaurant-cafeteria at McMaster University in Hamilton.
The researchers observed what foods students were placed in front of them on the table, measured the calorie values of all these foods, showed gender (male or female) of people who ate and noted the group size (number of people).
Then the researchers analyzed the factors affecting food consumption, such as the kind of people making up the groups and size groups of eaters.
Without any surprise, the team of researchers has found that total calories consumed were higher in the meals taken by men than by women. The men ate about 716 calories on average while women ate about 609 calories on average.
When the women ate with men, they consumed about 552 calories, but when eaten with another woman, they consume about 665 calories.
When 2 men (or 2 women) eat together, they eat about the same amount of calories (between them).
But the difference arises mainly when a meal in dating or flirting mode, the study said.
When a woman eats with a mixed group, it also eats less than when eaten with just women. When a man belongs to the group of eaters, the amount of calories consumed by a woman inevitably declines, the researchers said.
As the number of men increases in the group of eaters, the greater the amount of calories consumed by women in the group decreases, the researchers found.
Women who eat in groups composed solely of women tend to increase the caloric value of food they choose. And there are more women in the group eating more calories they consume. For example, women who eat in a group of 3 each eat about 650 calories, while eating in a group of 4 consumed an average of 800 calories each.
But people who accompany them to eat are men or women does not influence the consumption of calories for men, noted researchers. "The men studied did not appear to be affected by anything for their meals," said Meredith Young.
Researchers do not yet know exactly why the men who accompany women during their meal influences both the amount of calories they consume. However, they advanced a theory: social reporting.
In other words, women want to look more attractive, especially if a potential partner (with whom she could go out dating) or another friend or colleague who sat at table with her.
So to lose weight, eat with men.
