When it is time for a new roof on that flat roofed building you own, here is a solution that will save you many of the headaches of traditional built up roofing. Try standing seam metal roofing. This roofing system offers many benefits over the traditional roofing system. Standing seam metal roofs are more durable than typical built up roofing. They have a sliding clip system that is able to handle thermal shock. This clip assembly has a rigid base that is attached to the structural members of the building. The upper part of the clip holds the roof panels in place to form a seam. The clips then allow movement of the roofing panels in either direction during heating and cooling of the atmosphere. The light weight of these panels is also a great advantage over many other roofing systems. Metal roofing weighs in at only one and one-half pounds per square foot of roofing. If you want a roofing that can be installed easily, then you should choose metal roofing. Since the roofing is made to be installed over other existing roofing, it does away with the cost of removing and discarding the old roofing materials. Since the original roofing is left intact, there is little chance of water damage during the roofing process as is quite possible during processes where the existing roofing must be torn off. Roofing can be done while the building is still occupied and the occupants can continue with their normal routine, even right below the area receiving a new roof. Only weather conditions involving extreme cold, heavy rains or very high winds prevent metal roofing from being installed. Maintenance of standing seam metal roofing is extremely easy. Many times there is actually no maintenance for twenty years or more. You will not find a built up roof that can come close to that record. These performance roofs are essentially trouble free. This watertight roofs will withstand the snow, rain or wind without ever leaking. The watertight seams offer additional protection by being raised above the roof's drainage plane. The seams have organic sealers applied at the factory and a machine in the field rolls out those seams and seals them together so there is no chance for water to enter your building. Standing seam metal roofs are very reliable and insure that you will have adequate drainage for your roof, no matter if you must deal with snow or rain. If you are having difficulty with water ponding on the roof, leaking roof or other problems that are common occurrences with flat roofs, consider adding a standing seam metal roof. The new roof only requires a one quarter inch fall for every twelve inches of roofing. This gives the appearance of an essentially flat roof with none of the ordinary difficulties commonly associated with flat roofs. When buildings have combination roofs, standing seam metal roofing can be used on both sloped and flat roofs. This roofing is the solution to your leaking roof.
