Believe it or not I can help anyone unlock their inner artist

So the question invariably comes up; what can I help you with? Well that depends. What is it you want to do? Are you looking for a new hobby, interested in becoming a professional artist or just interested in a few painting tips to help you get started? Part of why I love teaching so much is because it allows me to get to know my students and find out exactly how I can help them. Not everyone learns the same way. Some people respond well to learning about fundamentals with the color wheel while other people would rather get started right away on art lesson worksheets and pick up the fundamentals as they go along. My point is that everyone learns differently and I have made it my goal to address the needs of each individual.

The first lesson I try to impress on all my students whether in person or through books is that learning about painting techniques does not have to be drudgery. In fact it can be a lot of fun. I'm a big fan of what's known as method teaching; that is to say I like to teach my students by having them do the work rather than listen to me prattle on about art history lessons. Painting is all about expressing your inner creativity and learning new and exciting ways to let that creativity flow from you.

In a class titled drawing lessons for beginners you may be expecting something along the lines of simple tracing or other exercises that have you wasted needless time. My goal has always been to cut down the learning time as much as possible and just do it. That's why my four step training technique has remained so popular throughout the years. There's simply no better way to learn how to paint in minutes in literally minutes. Whether it's landscapes, seascapes, flowers or portraits you'll be amazed at just how easy my technique makes it.

One of my favorite ways to teach is what I like to call art parties. At an art party you get together with your friends, or a group of children (basically whatever you want to socialize with); and I lead the group through the creative process allowing everyone to explore their own individual talents and create instant art. This is a great alternative to art lessons for kids as it teaches them the joy of having art as a hobby rather than yet another class they must attend.

I've been giving people art lessons for many years and there is nothing quite like watching the spark in someone’s eyes light up as they realize, for the first time ever, that there has been an artist trapped within them for years just waiting to get out. This is what drives me and has me convinced that I have the best job in the world.
